The PTS DVD, a training DVD produced by Lucid for the Rail Safety and Standards Board, was shortlisted for the 2008 Railway Forum Innovation Awards in the Teamwork and Cross Industry Partnership category, and received a High Commendation.

The DVD provides all training materials for a two day course on personal track safety for operational staff, and covers topics such as the railway infrastructure and signage, safe systems of work and emergency actions. Delivered as an interactive package, with video, graphics, voiceover and exercises, the DVD also includes a library of examination papers, model answers, lesson plans and handouts.

Nominees were invited to display their work at the awards ceremony, which was held at the New Connaught Rooms, Great Queen Street, London, on the 1st July 2008.

Lucid were commissioned by RSSB to provide exhibition support to promote the PTS DVD. A rolling version of the course was displayed on a large LCD screen, whilst promotional flyers were handed out and people were encouraged to register on the supporting website.

The Railway Forum Innovation Awards were established in 1998, and provide an opportunity to showcase new ideas that contribute to the rapid growth in today’s railway industry.
