Lucid was incorporated in 2002. We have delivered hundreds of successful projects – on time, and on budget. The company is wholly owned by its founding Director, is independent of any debt-finance and has been financially stable throughout our years of operation.

Principal Consultant

Paul Townsend is Founding Director and Principal Consultant at Lucid.  He started the company because of his desire to breathe new life into industrial communications, using strong concepts, creative imagery, video and text, combined with sound technical accuracy.

He has over 17 years’ experience of delivering operational, health and safety communications projects on subjects such as safety-critical communications; personal track safety; non-technical skills; lifestyle management; rail safety for schools; level crossing safety; field enablement; account management.

Paul has also led the development of a number of software applications such as the SiteSentinel induction platform, the Contracta II RAMS management system, the Level Crossings Risk Management Toolkit and the Consultation and Stakeholder Register.

Prior to founding Lucid, Paul worked in the IT industry in a range of technical and management roles.
