Lucid have been commissioned to develop the first of several individual modules deriving from the original ‘Non-Technical Skills: Route to Excellence’ DVD released earlier this year. The Planning and Decision Making module will cover one of the core eight NTS in further detail.
Network Rail signallers not only need to be technically competent but must possess a range of non-technical skills to be successful. Research from safety critical industries has shown that training which includes NTS has been associated with improvements in performance and a reduction in incidents and accidents.
The module will look at Planning and Decision Making in depth, covering anticipation and the decision cycle. The course will employ voiceover, supported by graphics and animations, with multiple discussion questions to engage the audience.
