Crossrail is one of Europe’s largest construction projects. With tunnelling complete, the project is currently focussed on tunnel fit-out, upgrades to the existing rail infrastructure, and the completion of the Old Oak Common depot
The large depot will provide stabling and maintenance for the Crossrail fleet of Bombardier-built Class 345 Aventra units. The facility comprises a maintenance building with ‘swimming pool’ maintenance area, wheel lathe, bogie drop, welfare facilities and depot-control office. There is also a 33-road stabling area and separate wash plant.
