SiteSentinel for Hull Botanic Gardens

Northern Expand their SiteSentinel Portfolio

Lucid has been commissioned to develop an online induction for Northern Train’s Hull Botanic Gardens depot. The induction will be developed using our SiteSentinel induction platform. It will create Induction Pathways for Contractors, Staff, and Visitors.

Botanic Gardens has recently undergone a major upgrade including new roof-access facilities, jacks, a crane, and an interlocking depot-protection system. The depot will maintain Northern’s fleet of Class 170 trains which run services to Leeds, Sheffield, York, Bridlington, and Scarborough.

SiteSentinel provides professional inductions for safer work sites. It provides an online induction, test, and administration interface. The system is designed to consistently deliver relevant, high-quality information using text, photos, video, and illustrations. SiteSentinel provides an audit trail of site inductions for staff, visitors, and contractors.

Training Modules for Signallers

E-learning for Network Rail

Network Rail commissioned Lucid to design and deliver two e-learning modules for Signaller training: Train Requiring to Stop in Section and Train an Unusually Long Time in Section.

The training deals with highly specific scenarios to which Signallers must respond. The project required a detailed understanding of the Rule Book and Network Rail operating procedures.

Lucid provided educational design and e-learning production services for this highly technical project. The learning was delivered using Articulate’s Rise platform.

Network Rail adopts SiteSentinel for London Waterloo

Lucid has been commissioned to develop an online induction for Waterloo Station. The induction will be developed using our SiteSentinel induction platform. It will create Induction Pathways for Contractors, Volunteers, Retail Staff and General Visitors.

Waterloo is the largest station in Britain. It provides around 99 million mainline and 100 million underground rail journeys each year. Supporting this operation requires an army of dedicated staff and skilled contractors. There is also a significant retail presence in the station and an ongoing volunteer programme.

Network Rail is the owner and infrastructure manager of most of the railway network in Great Britain. They directly manage twenty of the UK’s largest railway stations.

Facing Points Podcast for Network Rail

Network Rail has commissioned Lucid to produce the Facing Points Podcast.

The podcast will focus on issues relevant to operational staff – Signallers, Ops Managers, Incident Controllers, and the many and varied roles that must work together to deliver our rail services.

Here you see our first recording session at the Roles in Rail event held at the Westwood training facility. Roles in Rail provided graduates and apprentices with an opportunity to explore the many and varied operational roles available to them now and in the future.

Lucid worked with the Network Rail podcast team, providing planning and production expertise to this highly experienced team. We aim to provide practical, educational insights into operational activities – all delivered in the down-to-earth style and good humour associated with operational staff.
